Have
you ever worked hard on a project just to find out your work was not
appreciated, not even acknowledged, simply because it was done by you? Perhaps the credit for your work was
intentionally given to someone else. Sometimes people have a hard time accepting
your contribution due to their personal problems. I learned a long time ago, not to take on or
take ownership for anyone’s racism, hatred, jealousy or any combination of the
above. We can only be responsible for
ourselves. I can only hope that these
people get the help that they need to work through their psychological
difficulties.
If
you know you’ve done an excellent job and people choose to act like you're invisible,
just know, that’s their personal problem, not yours. Your excellence will shine through
regardless. You must know who you are
and what you bring to the table. Disacknowledging
your presence, will not make you disappear and it won’t change the high
standards that you set for yourself. Your
work cannot be devalued, no matter how hard they may try.
Understand that unless you give someone your power, they don’t have
it. Hold your head up Diva and stay strong. Somethings are more temporary than you think. In the meantime – stand your ground and stay
positive. You cannot control other
people’s behavior, but you can certainly control your own.
